ADULTS (18 - 65)Initial Comprehensive Evaluation (90 mins)
Dr. Reid's approach to assessment and treatment is very thorough, thoughtful and highly individualized. Your initial visit will comprise of a comprehensive evaluation where Dr. Reid will take the time to get to know you and understand your specific concerns. She will review and gather information including your past psychiatric history, past and current medications, developmental, family, medical and social histories. She will collaborate with your other providers including referring providers, therapists, primary care physicians or other specialists to ensure the highest quality of continuous care. At the end of the session, she will discuss her assessment with you and engage you in developing a treatment plan specific to your needs. Medication Management (25 mins) If medications are indicated and initiated, follow up appointments will be required to closely monitor efficacy and side effects. The frequency of these appointments will vary depending on response to medications, severity of illness and side effects. Dr. Reid may need to order labs prior to starting some medications or after medications are started for medication monitoring. The frequency of follow up appointments depend upon various factors and can range between every 1 to 6 months. Therapy (55 mins) - Limited Availability Therapy initially starts with building trust, respect and mutual understanding. Dr. Reid will help you gain insight into how certain repeated patterns of thoughts or behaviors may be causing problems in different aspects of your life and relationships. By working on better understanding how these thoughts and behaviors cause problems and by challenging them, you can learn to make changes which can lead to more fulfilling relationships and life experiences. Dr. Reid utilizes supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy for individuals. |
